Can you believe it? I'm posting about my desk, on the correct day for a change!!

On my desk today - a couple of w.i.p's, as I begin to make sense of the dollmaking process. They're lurking in my head (dolls), as they have been for quite some time now; I'm wondering if maybe now's the time to see them come to fruition...?

Something a little bit special on my desk today...isn't she fabuloso??

Meet Petrova. Here's her story:

There was once a small vaudeville show that traveled the back roads. Such magic as costumes, grease paint and rouge pots jumbled in their trunks as the wagons traveled from place to place.When Petrova performed her Swan vignette to the sepia-like towns, the patrons gazed enchanted, as if Petrova was a doll come to life.

I wish I was Petrova...but that aside...she's my Valentine's gift from the woodcutter. She arrived today and she's amazing, complete with little rouged cheeks and a pursed little mouth. Love her? I’ve been investigating dolls, lately. Dolls and plush fabric figures. There are so many out there, every single one different, with its own personality. Here’s a little dip into the Etsy waters of doll-land:

5)pink goodnight, grub-felt doll set special listing/ kale This completely makes my heart melt. I saw kale’s work over on flickr – it’s adorable. Utterly lovely. Like bathing in a sugar bowl. A little (or big!) girls’ dream.
6)Lilly lil Hoot/ ManicMuffinTotes I couldn’t resist her. She reminds me of a gift I had once from Father Christmas: a cuddly owl. Only mine was furry and pillar box red! No style in those days....

8)Kelly the Kitten/ bitofwhimsyprims Full of whimsy, this little kitten is feminine and delicate – can’t you just sense her personality?
